MamaLingua Releases First iPhone App

MamaLingua announces the very first iPhone app for parents looking to learn Spanish or English through daily conversation with their young children.

Austin, Texas, November 13, 2015

MamaLingua LLC, founded by two stay-at-home moms, is launching their first language application, MamaLingua English-Spanish/Spanish-English. Released on the iOS platform, the app is geared toward mothers with young children ages 0-3. Its purpose is to introduce Spanish — or English — to non-native speakers.

MamaLingua’s first release is different from all other language apps on the market in its unique focus: The app includes content specific to a parent’s daily activities with his or her young child. Divided by category into relevant, everyday routines such as eating, playing and changing, the app includes an easy phonetic system and audio pronunciation for every word or phrase, and the ability to create a favorites list.

One of the most exciting features of this application is the social community it creates among mothers, fathers and caretakers looking to expand their children’s learning through the introduction of a second language.

“As soon as I had my baby, I wanted to meet other mothers who were interested in teaching their children Spanish, especially considering the developmental and social benefits associated with learning a second language,” said Aileen Passariello-McAleer. This interest jump-started her free, weekly Spanish Meetup classes for mothers with babies. She joined forces with class participant Christia Madacsi Hoffman to create MamaLingua.

By providing users with an easy to use application filled with simple phrases and vocabulary words relevant to their daily lives with their babies and young children, the app makes introducing a second language attainable.

“Creating a community of parents and caretakers who value language learning is a valuable part of the process,” says McAleer. “Users can visit MamaLingua online at www.mama-lingua.com, and our MamaLingua Facebook page, to find more information about the company and stay connected with the growing community of parents and caretakers looking to introduce a second language to their young children.”

Founded in September 2012, MamaLingua LLC is eager to provide mothers, fathers and caretakers with easy to use language apps and community tools to make introducing a second language a reality.
